First though, you’ve gotta have the desire, which, if you didn’t, I guess you wouldn’t be here. So that covers that. You have to be motivated, helping a dog to become a good citizen is definitely not something that will happen overnight. And every case you take will be different. You will have to safely navigate every individual canine you come into contact with. If you’re not safe, the shelter where you work or volunteer will kick your butt outside, with good reason. No one wants that kind of paperwork, and the dog you were supposed to be helping will probably end up euthanized. There is nothing worse or more exhausting than dealing with a good hearted but foolish volunteer/employee. Don’t be that person.
As you begin looking at pets available through animal shelters, keep in mind some of these animals have had very hard lives. You may find a dog that was abused by its owner. You may find a female cat that has just given birth. Their owners have relinquished many of the animals offered by rescue groups because they are moving or can no longer care for them. In addition, some of these groups take animals that live in kill shelters or as strays living on the streets. Some programs also offer spay and neuter release program for feral cats and dogs.
It is interesting to note that the opossum can grasp objects with its tail. Opossum has a unique way to pretend itself as being dead and hence save itself from the enemy. Almost up to thirteen babies are carried by a mother opossum in her pouch. Antelopes have specialized hooves to help them prevent from sinking in snow or mud. There are different types of antelope’s like the bongs, charusingha or the Oryx.
